Israeli forces continue military actions in Palestinian territories for an extended period.

Third-party negotiations aimed at reaching a comprehensive deal on a American ceasefire proposal to end the war in Gaza have started in the Red Sea resort of the negotiation site.

Palestinian and Egyptian officials have reported that the discussions are focused on "creating the field conditions" for a possible exchange that would result in the release of all Israeli hostages in return for a quantity of detained Palestinians.

The group stated it consents to the peace plan proposals to some extent, but has failed to address several crucial requirements - including its weapons surrender and future role in Gaza.

The Israeli leader said on recently that he anticipated declaring the liberation of detained individuals "shortly"

Conflict Timeline

The negotiations, which will involve regional and international officials facilitating discussions with delegations from both the conflicting parties separately, come on the eve of the second anniversary of the Hamas-led attack on border communities on 7 October 2023, in which nearly 1,200 people were lost their lives and 251 individuals were seized.

The announcement failed to address of one of the key demands of the plan – that the organization consent to its weapons surrender and to ceasing political participation in the leadership of Gaza.

Global Perspectives

Local residents described Hamas' response to the negotiation initiative as surprising, after multiple days of signals that the organization was considering denial or at least substantially modify its endorsement of Trump's peace plan proposal.

Conversely, Hamas excluded its established limits in the public announcement, a move many view as a evidence of outside forces.

International and regional officials have welcomed the plan. The Palestinian Authority, which administers sections of the Israeli-occupied West Bank, has called the US president's efforts as "genuine and committed"

The Persian nation - which has been one of the organization's key backers for many years - has also recently indicated its endorsement of the US proposal.

Israeli bombardment continued in various locations of the Gaza Strip on Monday before the negotiations starting.

An official representative, speaking for the region's local emergency services, reported that "assistance vehicles have been authorized access for the metropolitan area since the offensive began four weeks ago"

Countless residents of the urban center have been required to leave after the armed services ordered evacuations to a established protection region in the south, but hundreds of thousands more are considered to have persisted.

The defense representative has cautioned that those who stay during the combat campaign would be "combatants and their sympathizers"

In the last 24 hours, 21 individuals have been lost their lives in Gaza and a another 96 harmed, the Hamas-run health ministry said in its latest update.

International journalists have been restricted by the government from visiting the Gaza Strip autonomously since the commencement of the hostilities, making confirming reports from both sides problematic.
